The song “Down to Mechanics” by the Dimestore Dolls tells the story of someone who on paper should be a perfect fit but in reality, everything is wrong. Last week the New York Film Academy hosted their Producer’s Pitchfest and asked me to judge the pitches. This year, it was virtual on Zoom. Sick of endless Zoom calls? We’re not! We’ve figured out a way to make them super fun. Back in March, we started working with our friends on Adobe’s advanced product team to turn our puppets into characters for video conferencing calls. Suddenly, you are talking to an animated character live and seeing them react with real-time triggers. If you want to see how it works, drop us a line.
Foreboding and dark, we aimed to invoke a sense of urgency as technology jolts sideways and askew. We created the motion graphics for the title design for the upcoming sci-fi film Bad Drones from Coaloptix Entertainment.
We’ve been printing N95 masks with our 3D printer using open-source templates we’ve found online. We’re searching for elastic, which is sold out everywhere. Still experimenting with material to be used inside. We’ll keep these printing these in the coming weeks.
